Comics

Directions: Create an original comic book.

A comic book is a magazine or book containing sequential art in the form of a narrative. Comic books are often called comics for short. Although the term implies otherwise, the subject matter in comic books is not necessarily humorous, and in fact it is often serious and action-oriented.

The Specs:

  • Book must be at least 4 pages long, including at least 16 panels
  • Book must include at least 3 different page layouts
  • Book must include illustrations
  • Comic book must include dialogue, captions, and action words
  • Author must turn in the following: brainstorming, rough draft of story, thumbnail sketches, model sheets of major characters, and color final draft of book
  • All written parts must be edited before being added to final copy; evidence of editing must be submitted for credit.

  • No Model sheet is created.
Final Copy
  • Includes all elements required and shows evidence of deliberate decision making on the part of the author.
  • Author has provided a clean, professional final copy with a title page and by-line.
